People
are talking. From talk shows to editorials, talk radio to
blogs, people are discussing the issues of life. There are many
ideas and opinions floating around–some valid and some not.
So, how do we know? To whom do we
listen? On what do we base the decisions we face in life?
We believe you have to start with the
Creator–God. He is the master designer of everything, including us.
Life really only makes
sense when we see the world as God sees it– when we think His
thoughts after Him.
To think God's thoughts after him, we
need to know what God thinks.
So how do we know?
We believe
the Bible is God's word to His people and it instructs us
in what we need to know for faith and daily life. It not only
contains the history of the origins of mankind but also wisdom and
instruction for daily for living. And if that were not enough,
it also explains the human condition, our greatest problem and the
ultimate solution to that problem.
All this in one book? Absolutely!
It really begs us to dig and study and learn. Each Sunday we
endeavor to hear what the Bible says and apply it to our lives.
When we study the Bible, we see a God
who makes and keeps his promises; and we see His unfolding story of
salvation which is fulfilled in His Son, Jesus Christ.
Then, when we grasp the reality of who
God is and what he has done for us...all we can do in response is
worship him. Our worship is an experience...grounded in Truth.
A community
that cares. The Bible teaches the church is like a
human body. It is made up of many parts and all the parts work
together for the good of the person. When one part hurts, the
whole body feels it; and when a part celebrates, the whole body
joins in.
While we are a racially and socially
diverse congregation, our common faith in
Jesus Christ
binds us together into a loving community. This shows when we come
together for luncheons, game nights, picnics, retreats and the
like--and we always welcome newcomers.
We're definitely not perfect but we do
believer God is working in us to make us more like His Son Jesus.
We invite you to join us in this
"extreme makeover".
